Abstract

The court is asked by the petitioners to rescind the 2012 Crops Act and the 2012 Fisheries and Food Authority Act.

The petitioners claim that those two acts were taken without public participation even though public participation is provided by article 10 and article 118(1)(b) of the constitution.

The court held that the consultation of several organizations in the agricultural industry was enough to consider that the public participation requirement was fulfilled. The court stated that the public participation requirements did not mean that every affected person by an act could participate. Therefore, it dismissed the petition.
